Alfred Nyaga is a Paralegal at FMC, with interests in Employment, Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law, and Investments Law. He holds a Diploma in Law and is currently finalizing his Bachelor of Laws Degree at Mount Kenya University. - Prepared human resource policy and procedure manuals for different international organizations with Kenyan based subsidiaries that addressed key employment issues such as terminations, disciplinary procedures, leave entitlements, non-compete, non-solicitation among other clauses
- Assisted in restructuring employment matters for a manufacturing firm based in Kenya by drafting contracts of employment for its executive employees, senior level employees, mid-level employees, junior employees, and casuals.
- Assisted in drafting consultancy agreements and non-disclosure agreements for a local content creating firm seeking to outsource services of various professionals.
Intellectual Property Law
- Prepared a legal opinion for an international organization on the protection of its trademark internationally under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
- Assisted in advising a Kenyan based content creating firm on how to protect its business strategies, ideas, innovations, and other intellectual property rights.
- Incorporated the protection of intellectual property rights clause into various contracts for different organizations.
Commercial Transactions
- Preparation of agreements for sale for investors in the real estate industry.
- Negotiating terms of the agreement for sale with different Advocates acting for either the purchaser or the vendor in the commercial agreement.
- Preparation of variations agreements for the terms of the original commercial agreements for investors.
- Assisted in the preparation and review of leases for residential houses and shops for different clients.
