We are proud to have co-sponsored the 2024 Kenya Internet Summit + Awards, hosted by KeNIC.
KeNIC is the manager and administrator of Kenya's country code top-level domain—.ke.
Our team provided a keynote presentation by our Managing Partner Fidel Mwaki and Associate Anne Mumbi during the plenary session where they examined the regulatory framework that underpins the digital economy. This included discussions on key areas such as:

- Aspects to consider when doing business online, such as connectivity and data transfer;
- the risks when sharing data and intellectual property online;
- the framework for data privacy compliance; and
- protection of intellectual property rights.
This was followed by an interactive breakout session with Partner Diana Wariara and Paralegal Alfred Nyaga, where they focused on key aspects of intellectual property and data privacy in digital markets. The breakout sessions provided one-on-one sessions where our team highlighted areas such as:

- collection, use and storage of personal data in websites;
- data privacy protection, including registration with regulators and proper contractual frameworks; and
- protection of IP rights and forms of infringement of IP rights.
